Maxaphone picked up the saxophone at the age of 10, and hasn’t stopped playing yet. After studying the art of jazz big band and combo playing at the University of Minnesota under Dean Sorenson and Phil Hey, Maxaphone started hitting the local music scene.

Maxaphone is a fixture on the Twin Cities music scene, and can be seen playing most nights of the week. He has appeared, recorded, or shared the stage with Root City Band, Heatbox, Power of 10, Corey Stevens, Delbert McClinton, Buckets and Tap Shoes, The Weired Ass Trio, Hyentyte, The Feelin’ Band, Pauly T and the Blues Blasters, Billy “Big Daddy” Cade and many more.
